Our client is looking for Head of Compliance and Risk in a sizable corporate and commercial bank. This role will be heading up the compliance and risk function, reporting to the business line.
Responsibilities:
Compliance Management:
- Oversee compliance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, with a focus on HKMA.
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and communicate them to management and staff.
Risk Management:
- Establish and maintain a robust risk management framework.
- Develop risk management policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide mitigation recommendations.
- Monitor key risk indicators and prepare reports for management.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead the compliance and risk team, providing guidance and support.
- Foster a compliance and risk-aware culture among staff.
- Deliver training programs to enhance staff knowledge.
Relationship Management:
- Serve as the main contact for regulatory authorities, such as HKMA.
- Manage regulatory inspections, inquiries, and reporting obligations.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Extensive experience in corporate and commercial bank compliance, preferably in a foreign bank.
- Strong knowledge of HKMA regulations.
- Fluent in Cantonese and English.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and proactive.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
