A leading international bank is seeking an Attorney to join their growing legal team as a Financial Markets Counsel. This individual will directly advise Front Office sales and trading personnel on the Bank's Financial Markets businesses. You will maintain close relationships with stakeholders including FM business and product heads to provide legal advice, guidance, and support.
Responsibilities:
- Specifically advising on permissibility of activities from a variety of legal frameworks including contract enforceability, derivatives and securities laws, and bank regulatory perspectives
- Provide advice and assistance to FM-related projects and initiatives
- Take a primary lead on the Bank's Debt Capital Markets business
- Advise Business and Risk stakeholders on a variety of perspectives including regulatory, legal, and practical impacts to immediate and horizon issues
- Key stakeholders include Head, Legal Americas; FM Senior Legal Counsel, Americas; Financial Markets Contracts; Compliance; Financial Markets; Corporate Finance; Corporate Investment Banking
- Negotiate transaction documentation
- Primary advisor to SEC registered broker-dealer on legal and regulatory needs
- Provide back-up Legal coverage for Global Banking, Corporate Finance, and Structured Finance businesses
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor
- 4+ years of experience. Banking industry or law firm preferred
- Debt Capital Markets practice experience strongly preferred
The salary range for this role is $130,000 USD to 175,000 USD
