Larson Maddox's client is seeking a highly qualified Director of Global Trade Compliance to oversee and manage their company's global export and import compliance program. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional judgment and thought leadership with a client and customer-centered approach, possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement global trade compliance strategies and roadmaps
- Provide legal guidance and expertise to identify risks and mitigate impacts of legal and regulatory trade developments
- Oversee compliance with applicable trade laws and regulations, including EAR, OFAC, and ITAR compliance
- Drive data analysis and monitoring protocols to ensure the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the program
- Develop effective training and communication programs to increase compliance with regulations and awareness of trade compliance and third-party due diligence and monitoring programs
- Work closely with global business and functional leaders to promote a culture of trade compliance and ethics
- Manage regulatory audits and inquiries and develop strong business partner relationships
- Advise and lead on strategic export licenses and regulatory filings
- Oversee third-party due diligence and monitoring programs, implementing risk management controls and advising on vendor compliance solutions
- Drive compliance with effective anti-corruption policies and procedures governing conflicts of interest, gifts and entertainment, and discounts and incentive programs
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate Degree
- Exceptional judgment and strategic planning ability
- Ability to conceive and implement change and improvements in compliance programs
- Management of tight timelines and balancing competing priorities
- Comfortable conceptualizing and articulating pragmatic and creative solutions to complex legal and business challenges
