An industry-leading Life Insurance company is building out their Legal team due to tremendous success and recent growth. They are seeking an experienced Life Insurance Attorney to head up the Life Insurance Legal function and deal directly with the C-Suite and other business partners on a frequent basis. You will manage a team that will be responsible for developing life insurance policies, handling litigation/claims, operations, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Be an active manager and establish and maintain strong working relationships with direct reports, other legal professionals, and clients
- Oversee and be responsible for legal items relating to Operations, Human Resources, Litigation/Claims, contracting, and SEC filings
- Act as a strategic partner to the Deputy General Counsel and General Counsel by managing day-to-day activities and raising appropriate issues for awareness and consultation as the accountable person for driving issues to resolution
- Partner with the business while overseeing a broad range of life insurance company matters and ensuring your team provides effective legal guidance and problem-solving strategies
- Proactively identify, collaborate, and implement problem solving strategies to reduce risk to the organization
Qualifications:
- JD is required
- 5+ years of life insurance company experience
- Intellectually curious
