Associate General Counsel - High Performing Wealth Management Company
A high performing wealth management firm is looking to add an Associate General Counsel to advise the firm and its clients on all matters related to ERISA compliance and Employee Stock Ownership Plans. We are seeking a highly skilled attorney with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in ERISA and ESOPs to provide expert legal counsel, ensuring that our operations align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal counsel and guidance on ERISA and ESOP transactional matters to support the company's wealth management activities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents including plan documents, trust agreements, investment management agreements, and other related documents.
- Advise on compliance matters related to ERISA regulations and ensure adherence to legal requirements in all wealth management activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including senior management, finance, and HR departments to provide strategic legal advice and support business objectives.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends pertaining to ERISA and ESOPs, and advise the organization on potential impacts and opportunities.
- Conduct legal research, analyze complex legal issues, and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and optimize outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in ERISA and ESOPs, preferably within a wealth management or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of retirement plan design, implementation, and administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
