Corporate Counsel
An automotive retail company is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join the team and support their growing business. As Corporate Counsel, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support across various aspects of the business to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, mitigate risks, and support strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, customer agreements, and partnership agreements.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, particularly those relevant to the automotive retail industry. Develop and implement company policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.
- Transactional Support: Assist with mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and integration activities. Provide legal support for other corporate transactions as needed.
- HR/Labor Law: Provide legal advice on employment law matters, including employee relations, workplace policies, and compliance with labor laws. Support HR in handling employment disputes and litigation.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation, working with external counsel as necessary.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and projects.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the state of Maryland.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate law. Experience in the automotive or retail industry is a plus.
