The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an Oil & Gas Associate Attorney with 5-7 years of experience to join its growing Energy Practice Group. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney looking to build a sophisticated energy practice alongside experienced attorneys handling complex litigation and transactional matters across Texas.
The ideal candidate will have experience in both oil and gas transactions and litigation. Attorneys with oil and gas title experience are encouraged to apply, though title work is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in oil and gas litigation, disputes, and arbitration matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of energy-related agreements and transactional documents.
- Advise clients on operational, contractual, regulatory, and business issues affecting the energy industry.
- Prepare motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal filings.
- Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy development.
- Support acquisitions, divestitures, due diligence, and other energy transactions.
- Work directly with clients and partners on sophisticated energy matters.
- Participate in business development and client relationship initiatives.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- 5-7 years of law firm experience.
- Experience handling both oil and gas litigation and transactional matters.
- Oil and gas title experience preferred but not required.
- Strong drafting, legal writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and client management abilities.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Texas Bar admission or the ability to become licensed in Texas.
