A nationally recognized Am Law 100 law firm is seeking Litigation Associates to join its growing Houston office. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys seeking sophisticated litigation work, a collaborative team environment, and long-term career growth with a respected national platform.
The firm represents a diverse range of clients across complex civil litigation matters, including commercial litigation, insurance defense, general liability, professional liability, transportation, construction, employment, and other litigation-related practice areas. Attorneys will work closely with experienced litigators while gaining meaningful client contact, hands-on case responsibility, and opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation matters through all phases of the case lifecycle
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
- Handle written discovery, depositions, and motion practice
- Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active Texas bar admission or ability to obtain admission
- 3+ years of litigation experience preferred
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Experience handling discovery and depositions preferred
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, commercial litigation, professional liability, transportation, construction, labor & employment, or related practice areas is a plus
