SVP, Securitization Counsel - Premier Bank
Our client, a leading global investment bank, is looking to bring on a senior lawyer to join its structured products legal team supporting a high-performing front-office business. This person will sit in a visible, business-facing role aligned with trading and deal teams, advising on some of the firm's most active securitization and structured credit activity.
The individual in this role will be responsible for providing strategic, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of structured finance transactions, including securitizations, CLOs, and lending facilities. They will be expected to act as a true partner to the business, helping to drive transactions forward while appropriately identifying and managing legal and regulatory risk.
This is an opportunity to step into a senior seat with direct exposure to decision-makers, working in a fast-paced environment where legal plays a key role in shaping how deals are structured and executed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day legal support to a structured products business, advising on transaction structuring, execution, and risk
- Support a broad range of transactions, including:
- Asset-backed securities (ABS)
- CLOs and structured credit products
- Warehouse and other lending facilities
- Advise on legal, regulatory, and reputational risks associated with business initiatives
- Partner with internal stakeholders across trading, risk, compliance, and senior leadership
- Manage and coordinate with external counsel on complex transactions
- Contribute to strategic decision-making by delivering practical, business-oriented legal advice
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor
- 7+ years of experience in structured finance / securitization
- Strong experience in ABS and/or CLOs (depth in either area is key)
- Familiarity with lending facilities and structured credit arrangements
- Ability to operate as a business-facing legal advisor in a fast-paced environment
- Prior in-house experience within financial services preferred, but not required
- NY Bar admission required
