Sole Legal Counsel (12-Month FTC)

About the Company

We're partnering with a well-established single family office that manages a diversified portfolio of private investments across multiple sectors and asset classes. With a long-term investment approach, the organisation is actively involved in sourcing new opportunities, managing existing investments and supporting a range of strategic business initiatives.

The business operates with a lean and highly collaborative structure, offering direct exposure to senior stakeholders and investment decision-makers. For lawyers who enjoy variety, autonomy and a genuinely commercial environment, this presents a rare opportunity to work at the heart of a sophisticated investment platform.

The Role

The business is seeking a Sole Legal Counsel to join on a 12-month fixed-term contract, acting as the primary legal adviser across the group's investment and corporate activities.

This is a broad, high-visibility role that offers exposure to private equity, venture capital and other private market investments, alongside corporate governance, commercial contracts and strategic projects. While you will be the lead legal contact within the business, you will work closely with senior leadership and external advisers across key jurisdictions, providing both support and collaboration.

The remit is intentionally broad and would suit a lawyer who enjoys working across a variety of matters rather than within a narrow specialist area. It also offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a family office environment and play an active role in supporting investment and business decisions.

  • Supporting board and shareholder matters, including corporate approvals and governance actions.
  • Assisting with the establishment and ongoing management of new corporate structures and investment vehicles.
  • Advising on regulatory and compliance-related matters relevant to the business.
  • Monitoring legislative and market developments and assessing their impact on the organisation.
  • Conducting legal research and providing practical recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Supporting strategic projects and other business initiatives on an ad hoc basis.
