About the Job:
A growing financial organization is seeking a Senior Counsel to act as a trusted legal partner across its lending and credit operations. You'll work closely with business leaders, support complex transactions, and help drive practical, business‑focused legal strategy in a fast‑paced environment.
*This role is fully on‑site in either San Diego, CA, or Phoenix, AZ
What You'll Do:
- Advise on Lending Transactions - Support structuring, diligence, drafting, and negotiation of commercial credit deals.
- Guide Regulatory Compliance - Keep teams aligned with lending laws and evolving regulatory expectations.
- Shape Credit Policies - Help develop and maintain credit procedures and quality‑control programs.
- Partner Across the Business - Collaborate with legal, credit, and business teams on transactions and strategic initiatives.
- Manage Outside Counsel - Oversee external support for originations, workouts, and special assets matters.
Qualifications:
- JD + Active CA License
- Commercial finance experience
- Strong secured transactions knowledge (UCC Articles 9 & 12) and real property law *preferred
- Ability to manage multiple matters in a dynamic environment
