Senior Corporate Counsel - Trading Firm
We are currently partnering with a premier trading institution in Chicago as they are seeking an experienced lawyer to join their in-house Legal team. You will play a lead role in corporate and commercial transactions related to technology, trading matters, procurement, vendor agreements, and more. This is a high visibility position that will require you to advise senior stakeholders and front office functions on reaching business objectives. They offer an entrepreneurial environment where successful candidates will have strong paths for advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements related to technology, procurement, trading, hardware, etc.
- Collaborate with senior business leaders in regards to strategic commercial decisions for counterparties the firm is seeking to engage with
- Identify and communicate legal and operational risks associated with contractual matters
- Strategize cross functionally on business critical projects to ensure timelines and deliverables are completed in a timely manner
- Guide the firm as it seeks to achieve the best business outcomes in various revenue streams
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience
- Law degree from an accredited university
- Direct experience drafting and negotiating contracts related to technology and trading matters
- Critical thinking skills and ability to influence both internal and external counterparties.
