About the Job
A well-established real estate investment organization is seeking an experienced real estate attorney to support a broad range of commercial real estate, affordable housing, and business initiatives. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders on strategic transactions, development projects, financing matters, and ongoing legal operations.
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid/Remote)
*The client is open to candidates located outside of Los Angeles and can accommodate a fully remote schedule for the right individual.*
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance on a variety of real estate, affordable housing, and corporate matters.
- Support acquisitions, development projects, financing transactions, leasing matters, and other strategic business initiatives.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and transaction-related documents.
- Partner with business leaders and external stakeholders to help facilitate transactions and achieve organizational objectives.
- Provide legal support for affordable housing and low-income housing projects, including development, investment, and operational matters
- Assist with due diligence, risk assessment, compliance matters, and general legal support across the organization.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar membership in good standing.
- Minimum of 7 years of legal experience.
- At least 5 years of experience practicing at a law firm.
- Experience handling commercial real estate transactions and related business matters.
- Affordable housing, low-income housing, multifamily, community development, or tax credit experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
