A leading provider of post-acute and long-term care services in the Louisville metropolitan area is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to serve as a key advisor to the General Counsel on regulatory, compliance, litigation, and risk management matters. This second-in-command legal position is ideal for a seasoned healthcare attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and brings a strong command of healthcare regulations and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic legal counsel on healthcare regulations including HIPAA, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, Medicaid reimbursement, and licensing issues
Support enterprise risk management initiatives and regulatory compliance programs
Lead internal investigations and develop litigation strategies
Manage outside counsel relationships and oversee responses to regulatory inquiries and audits
Collaborate cross-functionally with Compliance, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure adherence to applicable laws and standards
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law
Minimum of 8 years of legal experience in healthcare, preferably within the post-acute or long-term care space
Demonstrated expertise in healthcare regulatory matters, privacy law, and litigation
Work Arrangement: Hybrid; based in the Louisville, KY metro area
