Chief Compliance Officer

Role Overview:
This position plays a key role in safeguarding organizational accountability by evaluating internal systems, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting adherence to industry regulations and internal standards. You'll collaborate across departments to enhance data privacy, billing accuracy, and ethical practices, while also supporting leadership with strategic insights and oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support internal assessments of operational, financial, and compliance-related risks.
- Manage and execute audit and compliance initiatives across departments.
- Oversee privacy and data protection programs, including HIPAA-related activities.
- Develop and implement annual compliance strategies and reporting frameworks.
- Serve as a liaison to executive leadership and governance committees on compliance matters.
- Supervise and mentor audit and compliance team members, including budget and staffing oversight.
- Partner with IT and security teams to ensure alignment with data governance and emerging tech standards, including AI and cybersecurity.
- Promote a culture of integrity through training, policy development, and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Healthcare Management, Accounting, Business). Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in internal audit, compliance, or risk management within healthcare or a similarly regulated industry.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CHC, CPA, CIA) are a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with risk assessment tools.
- Ability to travel as needed.
