Licensing Attorney
A nationally recognized client is seeking an attorney to join its Financial Services Regulatory & Licensing Practice in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will work on matters involving mortgage lending, servicing, and financial services licensing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of state and federal licensing for financial services companies, including new applications, ownership changes, and compliance evaluations across all 50 states and D.C.
- Manage and support filings through the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry (NMLS), including supervising paralegals and preparing application materials.
- Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, and correspond with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Provide guidance on compliance with laws related to mortgage lending, consumer finance, motor vehicles, and money transmission.
- Collaborate with team members and clients to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in licensing or regulatory compliance preferred; experience in mortgage or financial services is a plus, but not required.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Barred in Washington D.C.
