Banckruptcy Attorney
A client is currently seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to join its team in downtown Houston. This position is open to both on-track and off-track candidates, and individuals interested in reduced-hour schedules are also encouraged to apply.
Overview:
This role is ideal for attorneys with 3-5 years of experience handling Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate will have a practical approach to complex financial issues and a passion for helping clients navigate challenging financial situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients across various industries in both Chapter 7 and complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases.
Advise clients including secured creditors, unsecured creditors, official committees, and Chapter 7 trustees.
Handle complex restructurings, workouts, and asset protection strategies.
Conduct legal research, prepare cases, and assist with courtroom presentations.
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and proofs of claim.
Communicate with Trustees, Bankruptcy Courts, local counsel, and opposing attorneys.
Attend creditor meetings and court hearings as required.
Requirements:
Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
3-5 years of hands-on experience in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy law.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Highly detail-oriented with strong critical thinking skills.
Demonstrated professionalism and sound business judgment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent academic background and strong writing skills.
Positive references highlighting legal acumen and client interaction abilities.
Eagerness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and build lasting client relationships.
