Associate General Counsel - Manufacturing
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior management and the General Counsel to execute the legal department's strategic initiatives.
- Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations, providing regular updates and guidance to senior leadership on legal developments impacting business operations.
- Deliver clear, practical legal advice to internal teams on a variety of topics, including commercial contracts, consulting and service agreements, marketing and sales activities, supply chain agreements, trade compliance, and employment law.
- Review, draft, and advise on contractual obligations, including negotiating terms with customers, vendors, and other external partners.
- Contribute to the creation and rollout of legal and compliance frameworks, including governance models, internal policies, and risk management protocols.
- Oversee and coordinate work with external legal advisors and third-party vendors as necessary.
- Develop and present legal training programs tailored to business needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution and an active license.
- 5+ years of legal experience, including time spent in-house.
- Proven ability to provide strategic legal guidance that aligns with business objectives.
- Strong background in building effective legal processes and applying critical thinking to support business and financial outcomes.
- Experience with manufacturing environments and labor unions is highly desirable.
- Experience working cross-functionally and engaging external legal resources to meet organizational needs.
- Demonstrated independence in handling diverse legal and business matters with minimal oversight.
