We are a growing real estate development company seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal with prior law firm experience to support our acquisitions, development, and operations teams. This role is ideal for someone who understands the pace and rigor of a law firm environment and enjoys applying that experience in an in‑house development setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support large commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing related to development projects.
- Review, digest, and summarize purchase agreements once negotiated and signed; calendar critical dates, track deadlines, and ensure all deliverables are met.
- Draft, compile, and organize closing documents; coordinate closings with internal teams, lenders, title companies, surveyors, and outside counsel.
- Prepare document redlines as needed (no contract negotiation required).
- Prepare, review, and reconcile closing statements using Excel; create and maintain simple transaction and deposit‑tracking spreadsheets.
- Monitor residential closings related to company developments or properties; track deposits and reconcile against bank statements.
- Work closely with the accounting team to support transaction closings, deposit reconciliation, and ongoing financial reporting needs.
- Review and summarize commercial leases and assist with administering lease requirements tied to construction, property management, and maintenance.
- Review title commitments, surveys, plats, and other development‑related documents.
- Maintain entity and company records, including annual reports, resolutions, and real estate files.
- Provide general administrative and legal support as needed across development, legal, and operations teams.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a real estate paralegal or legal assistant, including prior experience in a law firm handling commercial real estate matters.
- Additional in‑house experience at a real estate developer, owner, or investor preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate transactions, closings, and lease documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including preparation and review of closing statements and spreadsheets.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple transactions and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
