General Liability Counsel
A nationally recognized, defense litigation firm is seeking a Senior General Liability Attorney to join its Atlanta office. This role is ideal for an experienced litigator looking to take on meaningful responsibility, manage a diverse caseload, and collaborate directly with clients and seasoned legal professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a complex defense litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including trial, mediation, and settlement
- Develop and execute case strategy, including early case assessment, discovery planning, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, briefs, and legal memoranda in state and federal courts
- Conduct and defend depositions, manage written discovery, and collaborate with expert witnesses
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution proceedings
- Provide strategic legal counsel and regular case updates to clients, including in-house counsel and insurance representatives
- Collaborate with colleagues across offices on sophisticated and multi-jurisdictional matters
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal support staff as appropriate
- Participate in trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and strategy development
- Maintain strong client relationships through responsive, high-quality legal service
Qualifications
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active admission to the Georgia Bar
- 8+ years of defense litigation experience
- Experience in general liability, premises liability, products liability, transportation, employment, or insurance defense preferred
- Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage cases and work directly with clients
- Trial experience, including first-chair experience, is a plus
