The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Legal Counsel to serve as the primary legal advisor for construction-related matters. This is a hands-on role partnering closely with executive leadership and project teams to support contracts, claims/disputes, and risk management across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts (owner, subcontract, vendor/supplier, and design professional agreements).
* Advise project teams on contract interpretation, change orders, delays, and claims strategy.
* Manage disputes and potential litigation, including oversight of outside counsel.
* Support compliance and risk management (licensing, bonding, insurance, and regulatory matters).
* Provide practical guidance and training to teams on contract compliance and risk best practices.
Qualifications
* Juris Doctor (JD) required.
* 3+ years of legal experience; construction, real estate, or commercial law preferred.
* Experience with construction contracts (AIA exposure preferred), risk allocation, and dispute resolution.
* Comfortable advising business/operations teams in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
