Labor & Employment Counsel

A leading management‑side labor and employment law firm is seeking a highly skilled Employment Litigation Senior Associate or Of Counsel to join its Phoenix office. The ideal candidate will have minimum of 5+ years of litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in employment law.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and respond to discovery and initial pleadings
  • Draft, argue, and manage dispositive and non‑dispositive motions
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Manage and analyze ESI and complex discovery matters
  • Handle employment litigation matters independently while collaborating with colleagues on larger, multi‑office cases
  • Provide strategic counsel to employers on litigation and pre‑litigation issues

Preferred Experience

  • Significant experience in employment litigation, including claims involving discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, or wrongful termination
  • Experience with restrictive covenants and/or trade secrets is a plus
  • Candidates with strong general litigation backgrounds and a clear interest in developing an employment law practice will also be considered

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA‑accredited law school
  • Active admission to the Arizona Bar (required)
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Self‑starter mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
