Our client is seeking a Claims Specialist for their Orange County office. This position involves handling a larger caseload of highly complex claims and requires strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in medical malpractice claims management and a proven ability to navigate litigation processes effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage medical malpractice claims with significant financial exposure, including assignment and oversight of defense counsel.
- Oversee and participate in litigation activities such as discovery planning, mediation, settlement conferences, and negotiations.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of case developments, coding, and indexing within claims systems.
- Assist in training and mentoring Claims Specialist I and II team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; legal or medical education background preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of medical malpractice claims management experience.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and defense strategies.
- Proficiency with claims management systems and PC applications.
