Our client is seeking a skilled Labor & Employment Attorney to join their growing team. This position is ideal for an attorney with a strong foundation in labor and employment matters who can work independently and provide practical, business‑focused guidance.

The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on litigation experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to partner effectively with internal stakeholders or external clients. The role offers flexibility and is well‑suited for attorneys with backgrounds in law firms, in‑house legal departments, or a combination of both.

Labor and Employment Attorney Responsibilities

  • Lead or support litigation matters involving employment claims, including discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, and related actions.
  • Prepare responses to administrative agency charges (EEOC, DOL, state agencies) and manage related investigations and proceedings.
  • Advise on federal and state employment law issues such as wage and hour compliance, leave administration, workplace policies, and employee relations.
  • Draft, review, and refine employment‑related documents, including agreements, handbooks, policies, and compliance‑driven materials.
  • Provide guidance on workplace investigations, performance management, and disciplinary matters with an eye toward litigation risk mitigation.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders or clients on day‑to‑day employment issues, offering clear, practical, and defensible recommendations.

Labor and Employment Attorney Qualifications

  • J.D. and active license to practice law.
  • Minimum 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably focused on labor and employment matters.
  • Strong command of federal and state employment laws.
  • Excellent judgment, communication skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex matters with a practical, solution‑oriented mindset.
