Trust and Estates - Paralegal - Maryland
My client is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal to support a busy and growing trusts and estates practice. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth administration of estates and trusts while providing exceptional service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with clients and supervising attorneys to support all aspects of estate and trust administration
- Communicate with estate and trust fiduciaries
- Review estate planning documents, including Wills and Trusts
- Prepare and draft probate petitions, accountings, and financial statements
- Conduct legal research as needed
- Maintain attorney calendars and organize case files
- Communicate with the Register of Wills Office, courts, creditors, and outside counsel
- Serve as a primary liaison between the client and supervising attorney
- Prepare, review, and organize estate tax returns and supporting documentation
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in estate and trust administration or related legal work
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant legal software
- Experience drafting and recording real estate deeds (preferred)
- Familiarity with estate tax return preparation (a plus)
