VP, Trading & Markets Counsel - Premier Bank
A premier, international bank, is looking to bring on a VP, Trading & Markets Counsel to join their legal teams. This is a strategic role for somebody who thrives in fast-paced and complex environments. In this role, the Company is seeking somebody who can support the Capital Market teams on trading activities across the world. This person will be responsible for providing legal support and risk management associated with the Company's transactions and trading relationships. This role will sit in the New York City office with the expectation of being in office 3 days a week, on a hybrid schedule
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as subject matter expert as it relates to regulatory investigations, arbitration, and litigation
- Build out and deliver trainings to educate employees on legal and regulatory requirements
- Provide proactive legal advice on relevant laws, rules and regulations and ensuring internal policies and practices are effective and compliant with laws, rules and regulations
- Develop and implement best legal practices to maintain compliance with applicable regulations and laws
- Support wider business units on matters relevant to their products and services
- Enforcement of Close-Out Netting and collateral agreements
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor Required
- 5+ Years of Experience in-house or in private practice
- Prior experience with insolvency/bankruptcy law OR netting
- Working background with derivatives and securities financing trading agreements
- Ability to be in office 3 days a week in the companies NYC office
