A leading financial services organization is seeking a Legal Operations Specialist to help build and scale a modern, technology-driven Legal & Compliance function. This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to drive operational excellence, leverage cutting-edge legal technology and AI tools, and influence how a sophisticated legal department delivers value to the business.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of legal operations expertise, technology fluency, project management skills, and a passion for process improvement. This position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape strategy, implement new tools, and partner closely with senior legal leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance legal operations processes, workflows, and infrastructure to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Serve as the primary owner of legal technology platforms, including contract lifecycle management, matter management, e-billing, and knowledge management systems.
- Champion the adoption of AI and emerging technologies across the legal function to improve productivity, quality, and speed.
- Create training materials, best practices, and implementation strategies to support successful technology adoption.
- Establish metrics, reporting, and dashboards to measure department performance and operational improvements.
- Manage outside counsel relationships, legal spend, budgeting, and vendor performance.
- Partner with legal, compliance, and business stakeholders to implement process improvements and operational initiatives.
- Drive cross-functional projects and act as a bridge between legal strategy and business execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; relevant legal operations certifications are a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in legal operations, business operations, consulting, legal technology, corporate governance, or a related field.
- Experience implementing and managing legal technology solutions.
- Exposure to AI tools, workflow automation, or legal innovation initiatives.
- Strong project management, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, drive change, and influence across teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences.
- Experience within financial services, fintech, professional services, or other highly regulated environments is preferred.
Compensation & Location
- Base Salary: $160,000 - $250,000
