Senior Legal Counsel
A high-growth, industry-leading environmental services organization is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its dynamic legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while playing a key role in supporting commercial operations across a rapidly expanding business.
The Opportunity
This role will focus heavily on commercial contracting and strategic legal support, partnering with business stakeholders to drive efficient, risk-conscious decision-making. The position offers strong visibility across the organization and the ability to make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including MSAs, service agreements, vendor contracts, and NDAs
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders across operations, procurement, and leadership teams
- Support contract strategy, risk mitigation, and process improvements across the commercial lifecycle
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on legal and business objectives
- Assist with broader legal matters as needed, including regulatory and compliance considerations
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally with a strong focus on commercial contracts
- Proven ability to independently manage contract negotiations in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with a practical, solutions-oriented approach
- Ability to thrive in a hybrid working environment (San Jose-based office presence required)
