An AmLaw 50 global law firm is seeking Employment Associates (2+ years) to join any of its California offices. This is a strong opportunity to work within a top-tier national practice handling sophisticated employment litigation and counseling matters for high-profile clients across industries.
The ideal candidate will have experience across both litigation and advisory work and be looking to grow within a platform that offers premium work, strong training, and long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage employment litigation matters, including:
- Single-plaintiff disputes
- Wage & hour class actions and PAGA claims
- Discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination cases
- Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
- Handle discovery, depositions, and motion practice
- Provide day-to-day employment counseling to clients
- Draft and negotiate employment agreements and severance arrangements
- Advise on reductions in force, compensation practices, and workplace policies
Key Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Active California State Bar membership
- 2+ years of labor & employment experience (litigation + advisory preferred)
- Strong knowledge of California and federal employment law
- Experience with class actions and PAGA claims preferred
- Strong writing, analytical, and client-facing skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: Approximately $225,000 to $365,000, depending on experience and alignment
