A leading organization with a significant national real estate portfolio is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to support the acquisition, disposition, and management of real property assets across the United States. This role is part of a collaborative legal team consisting of attorneys, paralegals, and real estate professionals focused on managing complex transactions, mitigating risk, and supporting business objectives.
The Real Estate Paralegal will play a key role in coordinating transactions from initiation through closing, partnering with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, title companies, and other third parties. This position offers exposure to both large-scale and routine real estate transactions, with substantial responsibility and direct interaction with business leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and prepare transactional documents related to real estate matters, including land acquisitions, land sales, easements, and other property transactions.
- Serve as transaction coordinator for assigned matters, managing all phases of the transaction lifecycle.
- Review title commitments, surveys, legal descriptions, title exceptions, and encumbrances; identify risks and assist with title objection and curative processes.
- Support due diligence activities involving title, survey, environmental, access, mineral, easement, and other real property-related issues.
- Prepare closing documents for execution and coordinate signatures, notarization, recording, and closing requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage post-closing matters and resolve outstanding transaction-related issues.
- Organize and maintain electronic transaction files, data rooms, and due diligence documentation.
- Assist with process improvement initiatives and support the implementation of technology solutions that increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 3+ years of experience supporting real estate transactions within a law firm, title company, corporate legal department, or similar environment.
- Ability to manage multiple real estate transactions from inception through closing with limited supervision.
- Experience reviewing and drafting transactional documents and supporting negotiations under attorney supervision.
- Knowledge of title matters, legal descriptions, surveys, and related real estate documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems, transaction management platforms, or data rooms.
- Ability to work effectively with attorneys, business stakeholders, outside counsel, and external service providers.
- Self-motivated professional who can work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal Certificate
- Experience with corporate transactional work and title matters.
- Background supporting large-scale land, natural resource, infrastructure, energy, conservation, agricultural, or commercial real estate transactions.
- Experience leveraging technology, automation, or process improvements to enhance transaction management and operational efficiency.
