Private Funds - Private Investment Management Firm
Overview:
A leading global investment management firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney to join its legal team, focusing on private markets fund formation and related investment activities. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel on a wide range of legal matters related to private equity, credit, infrastructure, and other alternative investment strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support legal aspects of private fund formation, structuring, and governance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate fund documentation, side letters, and investor communications.
- Advise on regulatory compliance, including SEC, CFTC, and other relevant jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with investment professionals, operations, and compliance teams to support fund launches and ongoing management.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and coordinate legal due diligence.
- Provide legal support for co-investments, secondary transactions, and bespoke investment structures.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 3+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably at a top-tier law firm or in-house at an asset management firm.
- Deep understanding of private fund structures, securities laws, and investment management regulations.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
