A well-established civil litigation defense firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its General Liability practice. This is a full-time, hybrid role offering meaningful litigation experience and a clear path to career advancement. Candidates must reside in California.
We're looking for attorneys who are proactive, collaborative, and committed to delivering high-quality legal work. As a General Liability Associate, you'll take the lead on cases from day one, supported by experienced attorneys. This role is ideal for those seeking to grow their careers in civil litigation and general liability defense.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a litigation caseload from intake through resolution
- Draft motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda
- Conduct depositions, attend court appearances, and argue motions
- Communicate with clients and provide strategic case updates
- Collaborate with partners and associates on case strategy
- Participate in settlement negotiations and trial preparation
- Appear on-site for case matters as needed
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
- 3+ years of litigation experience
- Strong legal writing, oral advocacy, and analytical skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to client needs in a fast-paced environment
- State courtroom experience preferred
- Trial experience a plus but not required
