I am working with a leading healthcare organization dedicated to providing quality medical services within correctional facilities. Their mission is to deliver compassionate, ethical, and professional care to underserved populations while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Position Overview:
They are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation, medical malpractice, or insurance defense, and will play a key role in supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with case management from inception through resolution.
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and responses.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review.
- Manage and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Coordinate with internal departments, outside counsel, and correctional facilities for case-related information.
- Prepare exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders for hearings and trials.
- Monitor deadlines and court schedules to ensure timely filings.
- Handle medical records and other sensitive documentation in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years as a litigation paralegal in civil litigation, medical malpractice, or insurance defense.
- Education: Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes and court procedures.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
- Familiarity with healthcare and correctional systems is a plus.
