A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Financial Services Regulatory lawyer to join its highly regarded London team.
This is an opportunity to work with a market-leading practice advising a broad range of financial institutions, asset managers, fund sponsors and investment firms on complex UK and EU regulatory matters. The team is regularly instructed on some of the most significant regulatory developments affecting the financial services industry and works closely with colleagues across investment funds, corporate, finance and disputes practices.
The successful candidate will advise on a wide range of regulatory issues, including:
  • UK and EU financial services regulation
  • AIFMD, UCITS and MiFID II compliance
  • Cross-border marketing and distribution of investment products
  • Regulatory implications of fund launches and product development
  • Financial Services and Markets Act matters
  • UK and EU regulatory change projects
  • Ongoing Brexit-related issues affecting market access and cross-border business models
  • Governance, conduct and compliance matters affecting banks, asset managers and investment firms
The practice acts for a diverse client base including banks, investment managers, fund managers and other regulated financial services businesses. The role offers significant client exposure and the chance to advise on the commercial and strategic challenges associated with the global distribution of financial products and services.
Candidates are likely to have:
  • Strong experience in financial services regulation gained at a leading private practice firm or in-house legal team
  • A detailed understanding of UK and EU regulatory frameworks affecting investment managers, funds and financial institutions
  • Excellent technical drafting and advisory skills
  • Strong commercial judgement and client-facing experience
  • The ability to work across multiple regulatory regimes and complex cross-border matters
