This new headcount will sit on a growing Coverage & Complex Claims team and partner closely with claims and underwriting to deliver practical, timely advice on complex coverage questions.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a go‑to legal resource for coverage issues spanning CGL, public entity, commercial auto, and workers' compensation.
- Draft and refine coverage analyses, including opinions, RORs, and declinations.
- Interpret policy language and apply multi‑jurisdictional insurance law to real‑time claim scenarios.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel on complex or escalated matters.
- Contribute to a fast‑moving, team‑oriented environment where clear writing and sound judgment drive outcomes.
- Report to the Vice President & Assistant General Counsel within the coverage function.
Emphasis: They're focused on commercial coverage (Fortune‑500 level, complex risk). Candidates whose background is primarily first‑party or personal lines will not be the right fit.
What You'll Bring
- J.D. and active bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 3-4+ years of insurance coverage experience
- Demonstrated experience with CGL (priority), plus exposure to public entity, commercial auto, and workers' compensation.
- Exceptional research and writing skills; you can translate complex analyses into clear, business‑ready guidance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Westlaw.
- Ability to manage high‑volume work and parallel priorities with minimal oversight.
- Work authorization in the U.S. now and long‑term (no sponsorship).
