Our client is a well‑established international private equity firm with a strong presence across Asia‑Pacific. Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a Compliance professional to support their Hong Kong platform and regional operations.
The Role
This role will sit within the firm's regional compliance function and will work closely with investment, operations, and global compliance teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions, with a particular focus on Hong Kong, Singapore, and offshore fund structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact on regulatory compliance matters relating to Hong Kong and regional operations
- Ensure compliance with SFC, MAS, and Cayman Islands regulatory requirements, including ongoing monitoring and reporting obligations
- Support the compliance framework for private equity funds, management entities, and investment activities
- Advise on licensing, regulatory filings, and regulatory change management
- Assist with AML/KYC reviews, investor onboarding, and periodic due diligence
- Liaise with regulators, external counsel, and service providers where required
- Support internal compliance policies, procedures, and staff training initiatives
- Participate in compliance reviews, audits, and ad‑hoc regulatory projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
- 5-10 years of relevant compliance experience within private equity, asset management, hedge funds, or financial services
- Strong hands‑on experience dealing with SFC requirements; exposure to MAS and Cayman Islands regulations is highly preferred
- Solid understanding of private equity fund structures and regulatory expectations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across different functions and regions
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
