Commercial Technology Counsel - Global, Consumer-Facing Organization
Our client is a global, consumer-facing organization undergoing significant digital transformation and continued investment in technology. With a strong international footprint, they are building out their legal team to better support evolving technology, data, and operational initiatives.
The team is looking for a commercially minded technology attorney who brings strong experience advising on technology transactions and vendor relationships, and can also support the evolving landscape of AI and data-driven tools within the business. This individual will play a key role in helping the organization navigate legal and regulatory risk across the deployment of new technologies, while contributing to the development of internal governance and responsible-use frameworks.
The position offers exposure across the full lifecycle of technology and AI initiatives, from procurement and implementation through to risk assessment, governance, and ongoing business integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical, business-focused legal advice across a range of technology-related initiatives
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including SaaS, software, and vendor contracts
- Partner cross-functionally with teams including IT, information security, compliance, and business stakeholders
- Advise on legal and regulatory considerations tied to the use and implementation of new technologies, including AI-enabled tools
- Support internal risk assessments and contribute to developing frameworks around technology and data use
- Collaborate with internal teams to translate legal requirements into clear, actionable guidance
- Stay aligned with evolving trends in technology and AI to support business decision-making
Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of legal experience, with a focus on commercial contracts and/or technology-related matters
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating technology or commercial agreements in a business-facing role
- Experience working cross-functionally with business and/or technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with data, privacy, or technology-related regulatory considerations
- Exposure to AI, data-driven products, or emerging technologies in practice (e.g., through contracts, vendor work, or internal initiatives)
- Prior in-house experience or a mix of law firm and in-house preferred
