Trial & Litigation Associate
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and driven litigation attorney with 3-5+ years of experience to join a thriving civil and public-agency litigation practice. This is a unique opportunity to work on meaningful and high-impact matters involving public entities, including cities, counties, and special districts. The ideal candidate will bring a strong litigation background, a strategic mindset, and a passion for public service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda with precision and strategic insight
- Manage all phases of discovery, including written discovery, document production, and electronic discovery
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Prepare cases for trial, including development of evidence, witness interviews, and trial strategy
- Represent public-sector clients in complex litigation matters, ensuring compliance with government claims procedures
- Navigate statutory and constitutional defenses in cases involving public entities
- Handle law and motion practice in both state and federal courts
- Collaborate closely with clients, providing clear communication and strategic legal counsel
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of litigation experience; candidates with more senior experience are also encouraged to apply
- Public Entity Expertise: Demonstrated experience working with government clients and familiarity with related procedures and defenses
- Skills: Strong proficiency in motion practice, case development, and discovery management; excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
