A leading European financial institution with a strong global footprint is seeking a seasoned legal professional to join its Hong Kong office. The firm is known for its robust governance culture, dynamic deal flow, and commitment to legal excellence across its investment banking and corporate banking platforms.
As VP - Transactions Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the bank's transactional activities across Asia. Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on a broad range of corporate and investment banking transactions, including structured finance, capital markets, and syndicated lending.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal documentation in collaboration with front office, risk, and compliance teams.
- Managing external counsel relationships and ensuring legal advice aligns with internal risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
- Providing strategic legal guidance on cross-border matters and regulatory developments impacting transactional execution.
- Supporting internal governance initiatives and contributing to legal risk management frameworks.
- Hong Kong/New York qualified lawyer with 7-10 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained from a top-tier law firm and/or in-house at a global bank.
- Strong expertise in transactional banking matters, particularly in structured finance, DCM, or syndicated lending.
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- Fluency in English required.
