Senior Counsel
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides legal guidance on daily operations and strategic initiatives to support business objectives while managing risk. Responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts, developing corporate policies, and overseeing outside counsel. Collaborates closely with the VP, General Counsel, and Legal team.
What You'll Do
- Advise business units on day-to-day legal matters and special projects to help achieve strategic goals within acceptable risk parameters.
- Develop, review, and oversee the implementation of corporate policies and procedures.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
- Partner with the VP, General Counsel, and Legal Department on strategic initiatives.
- Manage outside counsel on corporate, employment, and other legal matters, including special projects.
- Create and deliver training programs for employees on key legal topics.
- This is an individual contributor role.
What You'll Need To Be Successful

- High level of discretion and sound judgment in legal matters.
- Strong research, drafting, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex legal strategies clearly.
- Responsive and adaptable to shifting business priorities.
- Ability to interpret financial reports and legal documents.
- Capable of handling inquiries from regulatory agencies and business stakeholders.
- Comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
What You Bring To The Table
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in construction law.
- Active member in good standing with the Texas Bar.
