Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney
A leading law firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Finance Associate with 3+ years of experience representing commercial banks, investment banks, insurance companies, debt funds, and other regulated or non‑regulated lenders in the financing of commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent commercial and investment banks, insurance companies, debt funds, and other lending institutions in commercial real estate financing transactions.
- Work on the origination of loans secured by commercial properties, including office, retail, industrial, mixed‑use, and multifamily assets.
- Conduct comprehensive property diligence, including title review, survey analysis, lease review, zoning evaluation, and review of environmental and third‑party reports.
- Draft and negotiate loan documents, mortgages/deeds of trust, guaranties, intercreditor agreements, and closing deliverables.
- Manage transactions from term sheet through closing, coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, title companies, and third‑party service providers.
- Support loan servicing matters, including amendments, modifications, extensions, and post‑closing issues.
Preferred Experience (Plus, Not Required)
- Exposure to mezzanine loans and intercreditor arrangements.
- Experience with commercial mortgage‑backed securitization (CMBS), securitization deliverables, rating‑agency processes, or syndication of commercial mortgage loans.
- Familiarity with multi‑lender financing structures or loan participations.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- 3+ years of commercial real estate finance experience at a reputable law firm
- Strong drafting, organizational, and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple active deals simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with partners, clients, and transaction teams.
