Legal Counsel - Commercial & Compliance
We are partnering with a fast-growing organisation in the infrastructure and sustainability sector to appoint a Legal Counsel to support its expanding operations. This is a rare opportunity for a mid-level legal professional to step into a broad, high-impact role with regional exposure and strategic influence.
As the sole legal advisor, you'll work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide commercially focused legal support across a range of business activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on commercial transactions, regulatory matters, and operational risk.
- Draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, including those related to property, procurement, and partnerships.
- Lead the development and implementation of internal compliance frameworks.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver practical, business-aligned legal solutions.
- Manage external counsel relationships to ensure efficient and cost-effective legal support.
Ideal Candidate:
- 4-8 years PQE with strong experience in commercial and/or property law.
- Proven ability to manage legal risk in a dynamic business environment.
- Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Admitted to practice in New Zealand with a current practising certificate.
