Infrastructure Transactions Counsel - Global Financial Services Company

A leading Financial Guaranty Insurance company is currently seeking an experience Infrastructure Counsel to join their team and play a key role in a variety of Infrastructure, Structured, and Project Finance transactions. This role involves being deeply engrained within the business, working cross-functionally on transactional matters with a variety of internal teams and external parties. This individual will have a high level of visibility, and will work closely with senior leadership.

The firm operates on a hybrid schedule (remote on Mondays and Fridays), and this role sits in their Manhattan office.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead domestic and international Infrastructure transactions; deep involvement in the negotiation, documentation, and structuring of these deals.
  • Work cross-functionally with a variety of teams on transactional matters; credit, compliance, deal-origination, and other internal units.
  • Manage external counsel when applicable; ensure quality of work and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the entire legal team on transactional matters, provide ad-hoc advice and support when needed.
  • Work with international deal teams when necessary.
  • Provide broad legal advice to the business on industry trends, transactions, and other ad-hoc legal matters as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • D. or equivalent; admitted to any state Bar.
  • 6+ years of experience handling transactions in Infrastructure, Project Finance, Structured Finance, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills; self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team; ability to prioritize responsibilities and wear multiple hats.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
