Our client is a leading Chinese investment bank with a strong presence across Asia. As part of its continued growth in Hong Kong, the firm is expanding its legal team and is seeking an experienced legal professional to support its equities and secondary markets business. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing platform with strong deal flow and regional exposure.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting into senior legal leadership, this role will focus on providing day-to-day legal coverage to the equities business, including:
- Advising on equity capital markets and secondary market transactions, including structured and derivative-linked products
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal documentation related to securities and financial products
- Partnering closely with front office and business stakeholders to provide practical, commercially sound legal advice
- Supporting transaction structuring and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks
- Assisting with legal risk assessment and participating in internal projects as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified lawyer (Hong Kong, UK, or US) with 5+ years of post-qualification experience
- Experience gained from a reputable law firm and/or financial institution (both private practice and in-house profiles are welcomed)
- Solid exposure to equities, capital markets, or structured products work
- Strong understanding of Hong Kong regulatory frameworks (e.g., SFO, SFC rules, HKEX requirements)
- Fluent Mandarin is essential to support business needs
- Stable career track record with strong professional integrity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
