About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing construction and infrastructure organization seeking a Contracts Manager to join their team in Reston, Virginia. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with executive leadership, legal counsel, procurement teams, and key stakeholders to modernize and streamline contract management processes across multiple operating businesses.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and risk management while helping implement efficient contract administration practices, automation tools, and process improvements throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain client proposal templates and vendor contract templates across multiple business units.
  • Review, negotiate, and administer construction-related contracts while balancing risk mitigation with business objectives.
  • Partner closely with legal counsel to understand contract language implications and support the revision process.
  • Coordinate with leadership, procurement teams, vendor management teams, and internal stakeholders to improve contract workflows and processes.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, including drafting, negotiation, execution, and ongoing administration.
  • Support procurement and vendor relationships by ensuring contract compliance and consistency.
  • Assist in developing best practices, controls, and standardized procedures for contract management.
  • Help implement automation and AI-driven tools to enhance contract review, tracking, and overall efficiency.
  • Identify potential risks within contractual agreements and propose practical solutions that protect company interests while maintaining business-friendly relationships.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing construction contracts and procurement processes.
  • Experience reviewing, negotiating, and administering commercial contracts, vendor agreements, or subcontracts.
  • Familiarity with construction contract language and associated risk considerations.
  • Knowledge of construction projects and contracting practices within Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with operations, procurement, legal, and executive leadership teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and contract redlining/editing processes.
  • Experience with contract management systems, workflow automation, or AI-enabled contract review tools is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
