Associate General Counsel - Nonprofit
An iconic non-profit organization is looking to hire an Associate General Counsel. With the mission of uplifting communities, providing work opportunities for individuals, and helping people reach new opportunities, this company has positively impacted the lives of millions of Americans. Their branch located in Phoenix, AZ is looking for an Associate General Counsel to help with corporate and advisory duties. This role is 4 days a week onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Advise cross functionally on legal matters and help avoid legal risks
- Work directly with transactional, employment, safety, and real estate matters
- Support corporate governance efforts with company, including compliance and entity management
- Perform M&A due diligence and contracts
- Work directly with regulatory and government agencies
- Implement systems for improvement
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance for reports
- Report directly into the General Counsel
Requirements:
- JD from accredited law school. Must be admitted to practice in Arizona
- 5+ years of legal experience. Both in-house and law firm preferred
- Experience with both litigation and transactions
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Expertise in legal issues including finance, M&A, real estate, corporate governance, employment, compliance, etc.
- Management skills and conflict resolution experience
- Ability to come on-site 4-days a week
