About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented attorney to join our legal team as a Derivatives & Trading Counsel. This hybrid role combines traditional derivatives legal expertise with cutting-edge regulatory advisory in digital assets and algorithmic trading. You will work closely with traders, developers, compliance professionals, and external counsel to support a wide range of trading strategies and regulatory initiatives across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of derivatives transactions (ISDAs, CSAs, clearing agreements, etc.).
  • Provide legal guidance on trading activities across traditional and digital asset markets, including centralized and decentralized platforms.
  • Monitor and interpret global regulatory developments (e.g., CFTC, SEC, FCA, MiFID II, MiCA) and assess their impact on trading operations.
  • Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure adherence to applicable laws and internal policies.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with exchanges, counterparties, and service providers.
  • Support licensing, registration, and regulatory filings in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Contribute to internal training and policy development on legal and regulatory matters.

Qualifications

  • J.D. or equivalent legal degree with strong academic credentials.
  • 6-10 years of experience at a top law firm or in-house legal department, preferably in financial services or fintech.
  • Deep understanding of derivatives law and financial regulations; experience with crypto or digital assets is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with ISDA documentation and trading agreements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with DeFi protocols, smart contracts, or blockchain infrastructure.
  • Regulatory experience with global financial authorities (e.g., SEC, CFTC, FCA).
  • Interest in market structure, trading technology, and financial innovation.
