Leveraged Finance Attorney

About the Opportunity

This is an outstanding chance to join a nationally ranked Global Finance group at a leading Am Law 50 firm recognized as a market leader in financial services and private capital.

This opportunity sits within a top‑tier leveraged finance platform known for its sophisticated cross‑border deal work, deep capital markets insight, and exposure across the full spectrum of credit providers.

About My Client

My client is a global, innovation‑driven firm that has earned sustained recognition from Chambers USA. Their finance group is known for representing a wide array of market participants - from borrowers and lenders to private equity sponsors and financial advisors. This multidimensional exposure helps round out their Associates skillsets.

The Role

The firm is seeking Associates with 2-6 years of leveraged finance experience to join their Global Finance practice. This role focuses on leveraged finance transactions spanning domestic and cross‑border acquisitions, recapitalizations, restructurings, and reorganizations. You will work as a key member of lean deal teams, gaining early responsibility running substantial aspects of transactions - from due diligence through to closing - while working with both traditional and alternative market lenders.

Responsibilities

  • Involvement in leading key portions of deal execution, including due diligence, drafting, negotiation, and closing
  • Engage extensively with middle‑market and upper‑middle‑market transactions
  • Work directly with alternative financiers, including business development companies, hedge funds, and non‑bank lenders
  • Receive meaningful ownership of workstreams due to the firm's lean staffing model

Qualifications

  • 2-6 years' experience in leveraged finance
  • Substantive experience representing borrowers, lenders, private equity sponsors, and/or agents in complex financing transactions
  • Exposure to middle‑market lending and alternative capital providers (BDCs, hedge funds, non‑bank lenders) would be ideal but is not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to run key aspects of transactions from diligence through closing
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
  • A commercial mindset and enthusiasm for a fast‑paced deal environment

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Elite rankings and market reputation
  • Exposure across the entire capital structure
  • High‑impact, early responsibility
  • Access to alternative credit markets
  • Exceptional training and business education
  • Cravath pay + above market bonus opportunities
