Legal Counsel (Commercial & Privacy) at B2B SaaS Company
We are engaged on a mid-level Legal Counsel search with a growing B2B SaaS company based out of the Boston area. The company is Private Equity owned, has global operations, and significant revenue that is continue to grow.
The Legal Counsel role will support the commercial function and also work close with privacy and infosec teams on all related matters. The position will report into the Head of the Legal department while also working alongside the Head of Commercial Legal.
This role will create a path to become more focused in either privacy or commercial, depending on the needs of the business and the interest of the candidate.
This is an hybrid on-site role 3 days a week in the Boston area.
Responsibilities of the Legal Counsel include:
- Reviewing, drafting, negotiating a high volume of commercial agreements, including Saas, NDAs, DPAs, etc.
- Working alongside the sales and GTM teams to streamline the deal cycle
- Help with the implementation of Contract Lifecycle Management and other legal tech related tools
- Working alongside the Product and Security teams on product compliance with AI, privacy, and security regulations
- Monitor and stay up to date with changes to domestic and global privacy laws
Ideal Background of the Legal Counsel include:
- JD and active bar in one US state
- 4-6+ years of legal experience, ideally a mix of law firm and in house at a high growth tech company
- Ability to commute to Boston office 3 days a week
- CIPP certification a huge plus
