Los Angeles - Employment Litigation Of Counsel

A nationally recognized labor and employment practice is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Of Counsel to join its Los Angeles office. This role is designed for a highly skilled attorney who brings substantial depth in employment litigation and is ready to take on elevated responsibility, serve as a strategic advisor to clients, and help lead complex matters within a dynamic and fast‑paced practice.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing California wage‑hour class actions and representative actions, including Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) matters. The position requires the ability to oversee sophisticated litigation from inception through resolution, mentor junior attorneys, and partner closely with both clients and internal teams to develop effective litigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading wage‑hour class and PAGA matters through all stages of litigation
  • Strategizing case direction and advising clients on litigation risk, exposure, and best practices
  • Drafting and overseeing high‑level work product, including discovery, pleadings, dispositive motions, and trial materials
  • Arguing motions in state and federal courts
  • Taking and defending complex depositions, including corporate representatives and expert witnesses
  • Supervising junior associates and providing guidance on research, drafting, and case development
  • Contributing to trial preparation and overall litigation strategy

Candidates must demonstrate exceptional writing and analytical skills, strong business judgment, and the ability to manage multiple complex matters concurrently. A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, partners, and clients are essential.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school
  • Active membership in the California Bar
  • Extensive employment litigation experience, including substantial handling of wage‑hour and/or PAGA matters
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cases, manage teams, and serve as a strategic advisor to clients

Compensation & Benefits:
The expected annual salary range is $210,000 - $270,000, with final compensation based on experience, qualifications, internal considerations, and other job‑related factors permitted by law.
